This week I have the pleasure of having Roland Forster speak on his company and his expectations from Turkey, his company’s newest market. Roland Forster is the CEO of ENERGETIX, a Germany-based direct selling company that designs, manufactures and markets designer jewellery incorporating high quality permanent magnets.
ENERGETIX now opens its doors to Turkish direct sellers and customers through a launch meeting in Istanbul.
Mr. Forster, could we start with knowing about your background first?
After graduating in business economics, I worked in the management of leading food companies and finally as CEO for overall logistics with a 2,500-strong workforce before I came to establish ENERGETIX in Germany with a business partner in 2002. I’ve been the sole shareholder and CEO of the company since 2007.
What brought you to the direct selling industry and when was it?
I was always fascinated by the idea of organizing sales directly from product development to end customers and leaving out the middlemen with the aim of creating a generally more optimized business process that would enable an even better response to customers’ needs and wishes. I actually started in 2001, one year before establishing ENERGETIX in Germany.
In your opinion, what are ENERGETIX’s main pillars?
Our business is based on two core aspects: we bring exclusive designer jewellery to end customers through independent distributors. And we offer additional employment opportunities. Because our distributors are able to benefit from an additional source of income by managing the new distributors they have been able to win for the company and showing them the ropes. These two core aspects are of equal importance to ENERGETIX.
I know you have been in Turkey before. What attracted you the most?
I’m convinced that Turkey will play a leading role in the economy of Europe. Turkey is also a beautiful country with many aspects and opportunities. It’s not surprising that it’s one of the most popular holiday destinations. And once you’ve experienced the people’s hospitality, you’ll always want to return. It would make us really happy to be accepted here. And our Turkish employees at our headquarters in Germany are really excited to see how ENERGETIX will develop in their home country.
What are your expectations in the Turkish market for the future?
It’s really fascinating how Turkey has developed so fantastically where its economy and its many impressive projects are concerned. The economic upturn that has become apparent here is an example for many other countries. And for a company like ENERGETIX, which operates throughout the world, it can only be a good thing to participate in the growing purchasing power. We also know that our jewellery is very popular with people of Turkish descent in Germany. So we are sure to find many enthusiastic customers and many new distributors.
If you were to sponsor somebody for ENERGETIX Turkey, what would your top recommendations be to him or to her?
I would say the same thing that I say to all new distributors all over the world: starting out with designer jewellery is really simple. You can easily start earning money from the outset with your first steps and without much training. My second piece of advice is to always be persistent and keep at it. All our successful distributors work to these principles. Any career, right up to one with top-level earnings, is possible if you follow these recommendations with the corresponding commitment.

I would just like to take this opportunity to invite all independent ENERGETIX distributors in Turkey to the next Catalogue Launch in Berlin. I promise it’s going to be a great event. But it’s also just as important to experience the atmosphere in which we all work. All the people here are happy in what they do and enjoy working for us. Everybody here treats each other in a warm and friendly manner, it’s like being part of a big family. But that’s something you just have to see for yourself. That’s why you should come to Berlin at the end of August 2014 when we will be presenting the new collection, the foundation for our distributors’ success with ENERGETIX for the next year.
